Millwork Creations

FrameWorxz® provides lumber to its custom milling shop from its own hard and softwood standing timber which consists of oak, cherry, pine, maple, and ash. Other species that are required are procured locally in logs or rough lumber. We have our own Woodmizer® Band Saw Mill for sawing logs into specified board thickness and widths. Our capability also includes a wood Kiln that provides a drying capacity of 800 board feet and is capable of drying lumber to a moisture content of 8%.

Our ability to create our own lumber cut schedule provides the opportunity to produce less lumber waste. Millwork remnants are converted into picture frame moldings representing numerous profiles of various widths. In addition, we are able to determine our lumber thickness and width requirements prior to actual lumber sawing which serves to further reduce lumber waste. Lumber thickness varies the most in picture frames moldings e.g., ¾, 1 inch, 1 ¼, 1 ¾, and above. As a general rule, the wider the picture frame the thicker the board. Other Victorian moldings, such as casings and baseboards, are milled from ¾ inch thick boards.

We select the “best” lumber for our products so that our customers are provided the very best wood Victorian moldings, casings, and picture frames. As a result, we are able to produce consistent profiles that will enhance any remodeling application. Our lumber is hand sorted to maximize quality, a tenet that our family assures with each customer’s order.
