The family business was inspired by Karla Bardwell, who with her rich Dutch heritage has inspired the family’s creativity and attention to detail. Her husband, Thom, tends to the lumber needs and millwork requests; Karla provides the framing and matting capability and the Bardwell children are responsible for many of the stained glass creations. The business is truly a family business and it provides the opportunity to meet with customers who share the appreciation of the craftsmanship of yesteryear and the desire to restore Victorian architecture.
The business is located in the “Red Barn” at 3540 North Hurds Corner Road, between Caro and Cass City Michigan, a barn that was recreated from remembrances and pictures of a similar barn that was used for the farms team of horses and later shop used by Frank Bardwell, grandfather and previous occupier of the Bardwell Family home. The barn is sided with northern white pine “board and batten” which evokes the grandeur of the architecture so often used in the late 1890 period of barn building.
Our family business focus is restorative moldings and casings, picture frame moldings, including a variety of picture frames (finished and unfinished) in standard as well as custom sizes. Stained Glass creations are the result of a child’s innovative flair and are either made to order or may be selected from the many creations from an imaginative perspective.
Our business hours are Monday thru Saturday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm….and the sales hotline is (989) 550-7648 which links you directly to Karla Bardwell, our families inside sales contact.
